ISEP Pre-employment program

Institute of Skills and Training Australia, in partnership with the Indigenous Skills and Employment Program and Tangentyere Council, our team recently celebrated the successful completion of its latest pre-employment program in Alice Springs.

Over the course of the program, participants built employability skills, confidence and workplace knowledge through classroom learning, industry tours and practical experiences.

Participants visited DoubleTree by Hilton, Ross Engineering, Akeyulerre Healing Centre and Alice Springs McDonald's, gaining firsthand insight into hospitality, engineering, Aboriginal health and cultural services, and customer service career pathways.

A session with Anglicare NT Financial Counselling also provided practical skills in budgeting, financial wellbeing and money management.
From learning about traditional bush medicines at Akeyulerre to making burgers at McDonald’s, participants connected classroom learning with real-world experiences and local career opportunities.

The program wrapped up with a graduation ceremony celebrating the achievements, commitment and growth of all 11 participants.
This is a fantastic example of how strong partnerships and hands-on industry experiences can help build confidence, job readiness and pathways into employment!

The ISEP Program is a collaborative effort between the National Apprentice Employment Network and GTNT Group  to support young Indigenous talent in Alice Springs.
