"I knew the certificate would help me build my skills and abilities that I needed to secure a job. I was able to do this while also building my network, earning money, and expanding my knowledge and skills."
Hailee’s interest in the corporate sector was inspired by her work experience at Girraween Primary School and this led to her decision to enroll in a School-Based Traineeship (SBAT) during Year 10.
This traineeship gave her the opportunity to secure a job, while building her network, earn money, and expand on her knowledge and skills.
What impact did your studies/work have on your life?
I decided to register for a School Based Traineeship program in grade 10 as I was very unsure of my career path and if I wanted to go straight to university after completing high school. I had a good balance with completing all my school and certificate assessments and working in NTG.
I was always interested in working in an office doing general administration work because of the work experience I had at Girraween Primary School. I knew the certificate would help me build my skills and abilities that I needed to secure a job. I was able to do this while also building my network, earning money, and expanding my knowledge and skills.
My workplace was supportive of my studies and helped me incorporate my certificate journal activities into my daily work tasks. Dovaston Training and GTNT Group were also incredibly supportive throughout my studies by answering any questions and queries I had in a timely and detailed manner.
This traineeship has given me so much motivation to work hard, develop more skills and broaden my knowledge across NTG.
I am grateful for the opportunity and the support from my supervisor, Lien Bui and the people in my workplace as I couldn’t achieve the skills and certificate without them.
